Though I've heard the show described as "lame - by the fault of an inactive crowd" i thought it was fantastic. They kept the crowd alive and i thought it was the best show at BDO.

The best live act in the world today? Well, thats an easy one! Its the boys in the art rock getup, Franz Ferdinand! I can tell you, it was worth the 2 hour wait in the line for the mosh pit (like a can of sardines we were) to have the best live experience of my life. They were bursting with an energy that sent shivers down the crowds spine, and played as if they knew that they are the kings of the world. As usual, Alex's sweet and entrancing voice made us all scream and cheer like giddy school girls,and their number1 hit, Take Me Out left us in awe. We all danced and sung loud and proud, as Bob, Paul, Nick and Alex performed the best live set Australia will ever know.

Absolutely awesome! My bdo highlight for sure....best vibe and greatest fun dancing, jumping and singing. Loved every minute of it

Boring, lame, overated. New stuff is really bad, old stuff is overplayed. These guys have very little variation to their energy levels. They came out with some mid air splits, but by the second song it was obvious they were going through the usual motions. I yawned a few times. They're live act has progressed but that is no compliment. Its become heavily scripted choreography.

i saw Franz up in the Gold Coast and they were by far the best band at the Big Day OUt and one of the best bands i have ever seen. They just have a great live sound.

This was the band of the day in my opinion, blowing me away with their astounding live show and how well they all played together live. Not only did they have everyone singing along and going nuts the entire time but there was also a great mix of old and new in their set. Simply put, Franz's live show is amazing, if you have any doubts on seeing them given the oppurtunity, do so. Very worthwhile.

I love Franz Ferdiand, alot. And when I was sitting on my boyfriends shoulders screaming 'take me out' waving my arms in the air I honestly could of died right there and then and be content.

Ladies need more toots as it is a complicated manouver as they guys can stand elbow to elbow and aim (usually badly especially after many many many Jacks)

They were magnificent. The energy they exuded on stage was worth every cent spent on the tickets. The altercations they did on songs provided a refreshing taste aswell.

I saw Franz at the big day out on the GC. They were the only reason I went this year and it was worth the price of entry. I thought it was fantastic, even though we should get a sideshows in Brisbane.

FF was the highlight of my first BDO. They had great energy and I was dancing and singing my heart out throughout their whole performance. Thanks for making my first BDO great. Can't wait to go again next year

I was FRONT ROW! for Franz at the Sydney Big Day out. This was my first BOD but still they absolutley exploded when they came on stage it was the most awesome show i've ever seen right up there with Silverchair. I was watching them in awe the entire time!

The best live gig I have ever seen! I feel that if you like a band a lot always rides on the first time you see them live. Franz Ferdinand have just hit #1 spot (live and recorded) on my list and another band will have to do pretty damn good to beat them!

Franz Ferdinand was definately had the best set of the day. Every song was played perfectly and it was good to see both Alex and Nick get into a bout of guitar duelling.

I thought they were awsome. Alex Kapranos is a great showman; he pranced around the stage in a way that was so camp and yet cool at the same time. The rest of the band had heaps of energy and the show just went off when they played 'Take Me Out'. Truly a great perfromance.

I saw Franz at the Sydney Big Day Out. They played the best songs from both their albums. Every song i wanted to hear they played. I saw them in Holland in August 05 and they played a similar set although at that time 'You could have it so much better' was not released yet so i was unfamiliar at the time with half the songs. I was waiting for the last song to be 'This Fire' which really got the audience going. I also like how Alex introduces each band member. Great artists and great performers.

I LOVED FRANZ. I got totally squashed in the line to get into the main mosh ... I was listing to Jaquline whislt I was getting squahed but I got through and then got to listen to the rest of their show in the main mosh :D ....HELL YEAH. Their show was so totally freaking awesome. I was jumping and moshing me heart out :D, Although My legs felt it the next day :P !!!!

Waited all day with Franz songs playing on repeat in my head. Absolutely lost my shit when they finally got on stage at Sydney. Tightest set from any main stage act at any BDO I've ever been to. My new favourite band!

I dont think i can find the right words 2 describe such a magical live set, when they started with 'take me out' i knew right away that i havnt seen a band like this on stage before, i took a deep breath and had a look around me and there were 55 000 othr people just having the time of their life. weather it was singing the lyrics, jumping around or even dancing this has 2 be one of the most magical liv bands in the world @ the present moment, im writing this a week aftr the sydney bigday out and it still hasnt sunk in just how good this live set was, they had everything interaction with the crowd weather it was swaying hands or bagging out the quuen of england they just had 55 000 sets of eyes focused on them it was amazing and the franz ferdinand set pretty much summed up what the day!

shoot the sound engineers, the totally f**ked the sound, not only for Franz, but for just about everybody else.
We went to big day out in Melbourne by the way.
This applied on the main stages, as well as the tented stages JJJ & Converse.
The sound was soo loud that it distorted to the point that it was a blurr of sound and no definition. Would have not been so bad if they had folked out for the speaker stacks to handle the sound, but they didnt so it was distorted. You just have to ask Tex, he was pissed off.
Out side same problem, not enough speakers, Too much base so there was no feel for the sound the sound phased and distorted so much so that even Franz ferdinand stopped singing half way through t!

i saw franz at the sydney bdo and they went off...awesome performance. i was at the front of the D, but i'd have to say they werent the band i wanted to see most at this years bdo however by the end of their set im pretty glad i did... it was my favourite set of the day. they were tight, energetic and pretty much put on an perfect show.
