Here's what you had to say about this band's Big Day Out performance!
ann
highly overrated! they werent even that good. the mosh pit was death and they were totally unenthusiastic and boring. they had a mad, yet overexcessive set, but they themselves sucked ass

Belinda
Awesome performance, however i didn't care for their set too much. Wish they'd played Joelene instead of, "I just don't know what to do with myself". Seven Nation Army was the track that went off for me. Loved the fact that Meg got up there and sang, even though she really can't. Good stuff. Jolly tidy work.

bonnie
the white stripes are an awsome band and sound great live, but i thought they were a bit of a disapointment at the BDO, they didnt get very involved with the audience and they could of come back for at least 1 more song when the croud were left with them bowing and walking off dead on 10.30

Boonie
The entire stage decked out in a theme of red, white and black and playing together extremely well, whoever doubted the White Stripes could headline was very wrong.
As shy as they are with hardly any audience communication, Jack and Meg played an exhilerating set (without a setlist) dispite some technical difficulties towards the end. Highlight songs included "I Just Dont Know What To Do With Myself", "In The Cold Cold Night" and of course, "Seven Nation Army". Great set.

easily the best 120 smackers i've ever spent, mainly made possible by the wonderous white stripes! their manipulation of tracks from the recorded masterpieces of their albums to the spine-tinglingly great live performance that included SO MANY of their best and slightly lesser known songs really justified their status as headline act of the big day out (and being crushed for and hour and a half attempting to get inside the first barrier, consequently leaving me with a broken big toe but being 5 rows back). but the much wanted encore - "WE WANT MORE!!" -was left unanswered... but i dont know any other words to describe how spectacular the stripes were in sydney - even with the minor guitar distortion incident. BDO = Best Day Ofmylife haha.

Dan
The white stripes were brilliant as usual.... BUT what was with the sound? Not nearly loud enough. Needed to be about 3 times as loud!

Dan
Not the best headliner. A bit stop start and selfindulgent.

Dana Francis
I Thought they were a little boring! Sorry Stripes! I love their music but I wouldn't bother to see them live again!

Finch
Love the Stripes... but short set and Jack still seemed to have vocal issues. Still, sub-stripes are better than no stripes at all!

Hayley
It sucked! I was so disapointed that i had to leave so that i could still like them when i got home. The sound quality was shocking!

hon p-dog eb and tood
they are pretty much the best ever band. the sydney big day out went off so many times. LOVE IT! thanks for making the effort. We were in the front of the mosh :D

Jesus of Nazareth
I've seen these guys be absolutely incredible live, however this time around there were technical problems and Jack White was visibly annoyed on stage. They left ten minutes early and didn't play an encore.

JL
Really disappointing. I've seen them three times and usually they are fantastic - their show in Vancouver in 2003 was the best show I've ever been to - but something was missing at their Sydney BDO performance. The set finished early and seemed disjointed (even more than usually intended!), they appeared to be in a hurry to get off stage. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for one of my favourite acts ...

Karina
I thought the performance from the white stripes at sydney bdo was disspointing. the sound was aweful and the lack of energy from Jack White was a shock. Definately not a headlining act. Smaller stage earlier in the day..perfect..main stage last act...not a good choice.

Kris
The sound was bad, while they were really indulgent playing music which was less known and simple... ohh and Meg cant sing. Over rated band and sub standard performance. Not impressed.

lauren
i was at sydney and it was defininetly the best concert i've ever been to. it was so good how jack was referring to meg as his sister. i loved every moment of it and even met some friends!

Linda B
Absolutely electrifying. The lightshow for 'seven nation army' was very cool. I has goosebumps through their whole performance.

Lindsay Cunningham
The show was fantastic! When Meg came out from the drums and started to sing I cried it was so wonderful

Liz
Sydney BDO. oh no, disappointing... sound quality was seriously bad- worse than usual at Festivals, they let meg sing which she really cant but jack is still an outstanding musician and peformer and since i missed their solo shows, it was still good to be able to see them and look forward to next time in a different venue!

Lucie
It was amazing! definitely the best show there. jack is a sex god! but why was it so short? we wanted an encore!

Luke Dalton
Stunning. They are even better live than they are on their records. Every song had its own unique flair, and the energy of Jack's voice was just awesome. I was blown away.

luna
the band, themself were fantastic.. although perhaps the guitar solos were a bit... questionable. but the sad part was the sound was so poorly done most of the crowd struggled to hear... i hope melbourne has more luck =c

Mick Fallon
Pretty ordinary. No crowd interaction, no denial twist or Jolene

Naomi
Boring....boring....boring....the worst end to a an otherwise brilliant day!

Nathan bradford
They did a very good show. Noticed there was some tension between Jack and the crew when he found his Gibson Guitar out tune for seven nation army. He looked very pissed off after he gave the guitar back to the roady. It was a good show they should of done more from there new album

nugget
i loved it, but it reminded me of when you visit someone and they're sitting in their loungeroom and playing their guitar, and they star playing a song and never finish because they get bored or can't play, and you star getting really pissed off as all you want is to hear the whole song. Looked like they had fun though

paul
AWFUL. dissapointing rubbish from a band I expected so much from.

Sam
Twas quite poor. Couldn't hold the crowd. May have been some sound issues but they just didn't rock out. They sound better on the radio!

Sam Finch`
The White Stripes show at the Gold Coast BDO was the best sho I have ever seen and will be hard to beat. They are as good (maybe better) as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Beatles. Rock On!

Seyda, call me Shade
Hey,
Big day out eh... I hate the bit where you have to choose between two bands that are on at the same time! We had to stay at the blue stage for like 8 hours straight so we could keep our kickass front rows spots for The White Stripes which was worth it. We did miss out on The Mars Volta, but I reckon the chances of seeing them another time is higher.
My friend was saying that Jack had this huge entrance when they performed their sideshow, where he came on stage with this intimidating expression trying to scare people? haha I don't know, but we were expecting to hear the intro music for 5 minutes but they came out really fast after only a minute, and really casually.
But boy oh boy does time go by fast when you're enjoying your!

Skulzy
very very poor effort here, jack white needs 2 take wat ever is up his arse out very quickly and learn to controll his anger and frustration. He has to remember that he is a professional musican and he gets paid to perform and perfom tothe best of his ability and give back to his fans what they have given to him. WAKE UP TO YOURSELF FOOL!

SPUD
Really quite remarkable how just 2 people can have such a chunky sound. This is testimony to Jack's incredible musical ability. Who else can play just a Xylophone and sing and still have tens of thousands in the crowd jumping about?

TARRYN WEBB
THERE PERFORMANCE WAS SUCH A SPIRITUAL AND MENTALLY FACINATEING EXPERIENCE. AS A HUGE FAN AND MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE, SEEING THE WHITE STRIPES PLAY THEIR MAGIC LIVE, MAKES U FEEL AS FAMOUS AS THEY ALREADY ARE. ITS JUST THE BEST EMOTION ANYONE CAN HAVE. CHEERS GUYS
