Mark & Matthew from After The Fall review Splendour
MATTHEW: It's our first time at Splendour. We flew up from Sydney on Friday, but we almost had to leave Mark behind! There was some mix up with the tickets. It was bloody great to fly up here. Usually we're crammed into a touring van. One thing you might not know about After The Fall is that our touring van is not petrol-fuelled - it's runs on Mark's lit farts! It's foul.
We haven't really seen many acts play, but we did see 15mins of The Living End, who were awesome.
MARK: Yeah, they were great. I'm really looking forward to Bloc Party. Definitely want to catch them play! The festival has a cruisy, holiday feel - good market, and beautiful scenery. It's all about the vibe and the serenity.
It was a great feeling when we were playing on stage. The tent's bloody huge! I was a bit scared going on stage, but the crowd was very relaxed - probably too relaxed for our liking! We need more interaction with the crowd - we like to see them jumping around, and shit. I think that perhaps we played a bit early and everyone was just coming down off their drugs! The Beautiful Girls are more suited to this vibe, I think.
This is our last show of our "Road To Splendour", so now we can kick back a bit. This afternoon, I think I'll just be sampling a few tasty coronas! Perhaps I'll get a free massage, too!

I hadn't really listened to after the fall before splendour, luckyil for me I was able to watch them live at splendour, I was blown away. I'm buying their cd this week. Im not even going to get someone to burn it for me..! Repect

i did see after the fall perform, and despite knowing next to none of their songs, i thought they were excellent. a testament to the brilliance of aussie rock (i hesitate to call them rock, as i had an argument with my friend frances who thinks they're punk, but "rock" seems to fit better). anyhoo, after the fall rock and will definitely be purchasing their album!

wow they were so amazing! i got shivers when they sang the opening line of "mirror, mirror!" and the whole crowd went nuts! catchy stuff, concrete boots is such a good song i will definitely be getting their new album when it comes out! :)

Yes caught After the Fall - and have seen them at festivals and intimate gigs before - have to say didn't have the same intensity as usual - crowd was very sedate - although this could have been the early time slot they were given. Nevertheless still pulled off a solid set.

I was looking forward to seeing them and i was impressed.They are really proving to be a band with a great future. a little sad that not many people were jumping around and getting into it, mabey it was abit early. i grew up on the Central Coast too and its awesome to see another local band doing so well. congrats to them for making it to the main stage at splendour. good on ya boys!

After the fall i didn't know what to expect from them but they proved to be some rockn good talent and relaxed don't worrry boys we definatly weren't we caused a rucus bouncing around to their great tunes .

ATF went off, and were def the highlight of my day. Great set - however i agree with anna, i was also disapointed in the lack of moshing...but hey still had a ball! Cant wait for new album and next tour :D
