Chris Taylor's Bloc Party story:
Had a very bizarre experience this morning walking along Watego's Beach, just beneath the Byron Lighthouse. I noticed these three guys with trendy haircuts and English accents wading in the surf - squealing like girls at how cold the water was. As I got a little closer, I noticed it was the guys from Bloc Party, doing a bit of sight seeing. Was quite incongruous seeing them walk along a beach, playing in the waves like young children. read more >

Bloc Party were a highlight on Sunday, they was incredible and Kele looked like he was having a blast.
Finishing the set with Pioneer left me drooling at the mouth for more...the last drum stick thrown from the stage landed squarely in the palm of my hand and i was left floating on a cloud for the rest of the night. It was perfect!!!

bloc party were really good. however slightly overshadowed by interpol and the fact that kele's guitar wasnt on for the first 1 1/2 songs was a bit of a drawback but overall they looked really appreciative with the audiesnce. which is nice.

I had the hugest smile on my face during Bloc Party's set! I even cried with happiness! They were incredible, it was such a great atmosphere with the whole crowd singing along! Kele looked so happy, it was great!

OK to start off - Bloc Party rocked. Of course they did, we all know their songs and could sing along. But I must say, they look very much like a band who've shot to stardom within six months and haven't had time to polish their performance. Too much time tuning between songs, and Kele's tendency to talk the best bits of the set that everybody WANTED to sing along with irritated me a lot ("tried to tell you ev-ry-THING!"). But hey, they still kick ARSE!
