About Lifeline

Earlier this year you told us that mental health is the biggest issue affecting young people right now.

Because it's important to you, it's important to us. You might have noticed that whenever we talk or write about a topic that could bring up issues for our audience, Lifeline is one of the places we send you if you need to talk to someone. Now it's our turn to help Lifeline.

Lifeline is the leading provider of crisis support and suicide prevention in Australia.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young Australians: in 2017 it accounted for over one-third (36%) of deaths among 15-24s. Lifeline receives around a million calls, text messages and web chats every year, but currently cannot answer all the calls for help.

When people contact Lifeline, their trained volunteers are there to listen, provide connection, compassion and hope – ultimately saving Australian lives.

Lifeline are working to reduce suicidal feelings and self-harm, improve people's ability to handle crises and enhance their sense of belonging.

Together, we can help more Australians in need: make a donation and help Lifeline train more volunteers to answer the calls.

It costs Lifeline $39 to answer a call, that's the same price as a Hottest 100 t-shirt! Grab one and you might be saving a life. John Brogden, Chair, Lifeline Australia.
