They may have only stepped out in public for the first time little over a year ago, but in that time they have exploded in a supernova of rock power chords, falsetto vocals and psychedelic ass sounds. This is their debut album, here to expand your mind and rock your heart.
The boys from Wolfmother, Myles Heskett, Chris Ross and Andrew Stockdale were thrilled to hear of their nomination.
"From playing our demo to nominating us for the J Award, triple j has shone the light of love on the Wolfmothers by broadcasting sweet rocking tunes to every antenna in this here land," the boys said.
"So from the Wolfmothers to triple j we say a big up yourself and may every transistor implode to your beating drum!"
The Wolfmother boys jammed together for several years before emerging onto the Australian music scene in 2004. Their debut album was created in Los Angeles earlier this year and the popular Sydney trio are currently touring the country with their classic rock sounds.
