triple j selects one Unearthed artist as the best artist on the triple j Unearthed website for the year from a list of approximately 5 nominees decided by triple j.

Judging criteria

The award goes to the Unearthed artist demonstrating the most musical growth and potential to contribute to Australian music.

Eligibility

The period of eligibility of the awards is from Dec 2007-Nov 2008. Any Unearthed artist who wins a competition or is featured on the triple j Unearthed site in this period is eligible for the award.

Any artist registered on the Unearthed site in this period is automatically also in consideration for the Award. There is no other official submission process.
