Richard Kingsmill speaks with singer/songwriter Ben Gibbard about Jack Kerouac, obsession, optimism and what the band will achieve with this new album.

The US DJ/producer/remixer spoke to Richard Kingsmill at the Parklife Festival in Melbourne. He spoke about his Heaps Decent project, working with Santogold, chopper riding with Peaches and remixing Radiohead.

The San Diego band came to Australia to launch their debut album Ode To Sunshine. Thye played Splendour In Tne Grass and supported friends Cold War Kids on their sideshows. Richard Kingsmill was impressed with what he heard and saw and invited Matt Vasquez and Brandon Young to visit triple j to talk about their beginnings.
