Appeal To Reason is the fifth studio album from Rise Against.
As expected, it's filled with political messages including a strong anti-war sentiment.
Singer Tim McIlrath explained to Zan Rowe why he really wanted to get those ideas out.
"I learned more about the Vietnam War from people like Neil Young or Creedence Clearwater Revival or Buffalo Springfield than I learned from a historty book. And to this day these songs are constantly on the airwaves spreading this message and telling people what it was really like in the seventies and late sixties in America during the Vietnam War. It's this message that managed to reach people like me. And I learned so much about what people were really feeling. You can only get so much from a history book telling you the straight facts."
Rise Against have just announced they'll be touring Australia next March.
They'll be bringing Swedish band The (International) Noise Conspiracy with them for shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The Black Seeds from New Zealand have earned acclaim on the international dub scene with the four albums they've released in their ten year career.
But now their profile is preading even further thanks to former member Bret McKenzie.
One half of the comedy duo Flight Of The Conchords, Bret played with The Black Seeds until 2006.
With the success of his tv show he's had to officially leave the band. But he still likes to hang out when he can.
"He'd just finished filming the first series and he came over for a week. Plyed some gigs, we shot a music video, hung out, it was great, like the old days really. Except when we got to the airport to leave he was mobbed by young girls. That was the only difference really. It's also funny hearing some of the jokes on the shows that we've heard for years in the van in situations that are real that have been fitted in to the show."
The Black Seeds have just released their new album Solid Ground.
Cold War Kids have released their second album Loyalty To Loyalty.
When they were in Australia a few weeks back, Matt and Nathan told Richard Kingsmill that fans can get behind the scenes to see the inspiration for the track Mexican Dogs.
"We have a DVD that's coming out with the record that our friend Vern made that follows us around through a lot of the recording process. He gets footage of us while we're in Mexico City. There's dogs and they're running around. Mexican dogs are a different breed, unlike any other dog we've ever seen. That's why they hit us so hard. They bite your ankles and they love your ankles. They bite it hard but they don't bite it too hard."
According to internet reports Bjork has a new single coming next week - and Thom Yorke will appear as a guest vocalist.
The two have worked together before, on a song for the Dancer In The Dark soundtrack.
A few websites are claiming that Bjorks 'people' have released the news that the single is titled Nattura, which is the name of the festival put on in Reykjavík by Bjork and Sigur Ros a couple of months back.
Like the festival, this collaboration aims to "highlight a grass roots movement in Iceland to reclaim the country's natural resources and wilderness from the hands of big business and pollution."
If you can read Icelandic you can find out more about Nattura here.
You'll hear the collaboration on triple j as soon as it's available.

Peaches didn't hold back when talking up her new album on brekkie.
"It sounds fantastic. It's amazing. It's like a big variety show. There's a ballad and then there's some real hard stuff and some disco. I recorded a lot of it in London with Simian Mobile Disco. I'm finishing off a track now with Digitalism. I decided to just collaborate with everyone. I did a lot of writing with Gonzales, which is great because we never actually got to write anything for Peaches albums before."
The album won't be ready for a few months and doesn’t have a name yet. But Peaches reckons she’s strongly considering Deafened by Fuschia, Blinded By Chains – a comment made by Zan Rowe when she saw the rock star wandering the halls of triple j in a vibrant outfit. We’ll let you know if she decides to run with it.
