Joy Anonymous, the kings of chopping up and remixing essential heaters, stepped into the Like A Version studio to take a run at one of 2023's biggest anthems — 'Padam Padam' by our Kylie Minogue.
Putting your own spin on pop perfection is no easy feat, but the London-based duo wrangled Kylie's Hottest 100 record-breaking thumper into their effervescent universe.
With Henry Counsell on vocal and piano duties and his counterpart Louis Curran on the decks and sequencers, they bounced through their version with energy and respect to the undisputed queen of the dancefloor.
"We wanted to put a bit more of a UK garage spin on it," Louis said.
"So we were doing new drums and just wanted to shout out where we come from a bit and recontextualise it."
Though the cover represents Joy Anonymous and their musical stomping ground, still unmistakably Kylie with her stiletto stamped all over the track through echoes of her vocals.
You hear it and you know.
